Roasso Kumamoto
is a Japanese football club based in Kumamoto, the capital city of Kumamoto Prefecture. The club currently plays in the J2 League, Japan's 2nd tier of professional league football. Name origin ''Roasso'' is a portmanteau of the Italian words ''rosso'' and ''asso'', meaning "red ace". History Early years (1969–2004) The club was founded as the Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Public Corporation (''Den-Den Kōsha'', current NTT) Kumamoto Soccer Club in 1969. The club was promoted to the Kyushu Soccer League in 1983. According to the NTT's privatization in 1985, the club was renamed as NTT Kyushu Soccer Club in 1988. KKWing Stadium
is a multi-purpose stadium in Higashi-ku, Kumamoto, Japan. It is currently used mostly for association football matches – it is home to club Roasso Kumamoto – and sometimes for Top League rugby games. The stadium holds 32,000 people. With Rosso's promotion from the Japan Football League to the J. League Division 2 in 2007, KKWing is expected to play a role in Rosso's ascendancy. 2007 Japan Football League
The was the ninth season of the Japan Football League, the third tier of the Japanese football league system. Overview It was contested by 18 teams, and Sagawa Express won the championship. The club was created before the season by merger of two Sagawa Express corporate clubs from Tokyo and Osaka. SC Tottori were renamed to Gainare Tottori before the season. TDK SC and FC Gifu were promoted from Regional leagues by the virtue of their placing in the Regional League promotion series, the former promoted automatically and the latter won the play-off series against Honda Lock. Emperor's Cup
, commonly known as or also Japan FA Cup is a Japanese football competition. It has the longest tradition of any football match in Japan, dating back to 1921, before the formation of the J.League, Japan Football League and their predecessor, Japan Soccer League. Before World War II, teams could qualify not only from Japan proper but also from Empire of Japan's former-colonies such as Korea, Taiwan, and sometimes Manchukuo. In sports leagues, promotion and relegation is a process where teams are transferred between multiple divisions based on their performance for the completed season. Leagues that use promotion and relegation systems are often called open leagues. In a system of promotion and relegation, the best-ranked team(s) in the lower division are ''promoted'' to the higher division for the next season, and the worst-ranked team(s) in the higher division are ''relegated'' to the lower division for the next season. is a Japanese professional football club based in Kyoto. "Sanga" comes from the Sanskrit word ''sangha'', a term meaning "group" or "club" and often used to denote the Buddhist priesthood, associating the club with Kyoto's many Buddhist temples. Montedio Yamagata
is Japanese professional association football club based in Tendo, Yamagata. The club plays in J2 League. Montedio is a coined word combining the Italian word for "mountain" (Monte) and the word for "God" (Dio). History The club based in Tsuruoka was founded in 1984 as NEC Yamagata Soccer Club.
